Desired candidate shall be able to generate assignments and evaluate news leads and news tips to develop stories.
Gather and verifiy factual information regarding stories through interview, observation and research; ensure the accuracy of news programs.
Ensure compliance with policies and local regulations governing news coverage.
Exceptional spoken and written skills in Bengali is a must & proficiency in English is desirable.
Should have supervised a team of editorial staff. Awareness on digital media ecosystem, including social media dynamics is desirable.
Edit news material and report submissions; prepare and write stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards.
Must have experience in day-to-day planning of output/input, making editorial judgments on reports filed by reporters and ensuring flawless output production.
Knowledge of West Bengal social and political issues is a must.
Candidate should be able to guide and mentor a team of desk & field members.

Required Skills:

Desired candidates should have a minimum 12 years of combined News media Experience involving print, electronic and digital media.
Hands on experience in Bengali typing is a must.
Graduate/ Post Graduate/ PG Diploma in Journalism/ Mass Communication with relevant experience are considered.
