About the team
The Business Finance team manages the assets & money for Flipkart. Its primary focus is to increase profit and minimize financial risks by understanding the key business drivers, analyse key financial metrics, provide value add analysis, support to sales / finance management (budget analysis, portfolio management and financial forecasting). They support cross business units within Flipkart.
About the role
We are seeking a solid, self-starting Partner to partner with business teams who are enabling decisions for growing existing businesses and building new ones from scratch at Flipkart. This role is more than finance: it requires ability to invent, go beyond the standard business rules to experiment and conceive - together with the business partners- financial sustainable solution. The successful candidate should have a history of:

This is a perfect position for someone who knows how to work fast and smart. This person will work on multiple tasks, helping his/her business partners understand financial decisions and as the trusted business advisor. As a member of a growing team, you will deal with a high level of ambiguity and changing priorities. The successful candidate will manoeuvre through the ambiguity, communicate effectively across teams and levels, while balancing the needs and requirements of internal and external customers. Flexibility and the ability to prioritize in a changing business environment will also be key.

Drive Category Performance, Deliver Strategic Plans, Provide 'real time' strategic and decision support through thought leadership and insightful analytics for a sustainable & profitable growth
Principle Accountabilities
Financial & Business Planning
Formulate & Drive Business Plans / Strategies for the Market for specific categories and Division to operationalize the 3 Yr & 10 Yr Plan
Analyse and develop Industry landscape to recommend Category / Product Play.
Benchmarking vis a vis Market Channels and Segments, Competitive Actions and Combative Counter Plans
Lead Annual Operating Plan and Forecasting ( Monthly / Quarterly) and reframing Year to Go to deliver goals for the year
Operational Execution and Reviews -
Co-own the Business P&L and KPIs along with Business Teams
Drive Operational Excellence thru deep dive analytics on Business Drivers and leading the change / execution with Operating Teams
Hold fort on Key Business KPIs viz. Revenue, Mix, Segments, Margins and Working Capital
Crisp Presentations and creative visualizations explaining financial &business results - Deliver key messages to Category / Business leaders / Executive Committee and maneuver to a decision
Business Case preparation and Performance review of new Investment. Insights thru Return on Investment / Payback & decision Drivers
Analyse key business drivers regarding industry and competition and provide regular business risk assessment reports to Leadership Team
Establish business intelligence reports & dashboards to streamline the financial and operations MIS across various categories / locations / initiatives
Identify Levers for Revenue, Mix and Margin improvement opportunities and establish pricing / discounts / trade schemes guidelines
Commercial
Partner with merchants for Terms of Trade closure with Brand Owners / Vendors / Suppliers Pricing, Merchandizing, Visibility, Listing, Trade Schemes etc.
Analyse the regional performance and provide meaningful insight on price investment and competitiveness of assortment
Identify and Lead Working Capital Improvement opportunities / plans / actions for the Vertical
Processes / Automation
Develop and implement processes commensurate with size, scale, complexity and business needs
Champion simplification, standardization and automation opportunities and lead these projects
Desired Candidate :
- CA/ MBA- Finance (Tier 1/2) management institute with min 3- 8 years of work experience.
- Prior experience in Relevant Industry / Business Facing Roles will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrate strong Communication / Presentation Skills and ability to work with peers and counterparts / multi location setup / good team manager
- Expertise in Office Tools MS Excel, Power Point Skills. The candidate should be proactive, self-starter, strong Team Leader
- Role would require interaction with Cross functional teams.
