1. To promote sales with the help of suitable advertising and promotion schemes. 2. To control distribution with an effective administration of the distribution channels. 3. To forecast sales, price movements, costs etc., and to advise management of trends and prepare sales budgets. 4. To maintain statistics of sales and submit reports at regular intervals.
5. To control marketing activities. 6. To suggest to the production department to add, drop or modify the products. 7. To develop an internal organisation of the marketing activities on the basis of products, sales areas and types of customers. 8. To assess the nature and type of products required by different market segments.
9. To determine the marketing policy including the goals to be achieved within the broad policy framed by the Board of Directors. 10. To give timely advice to the Board of Directors on the various issues relating to sales. 11. To recruit the necessary personnel to man the various positions in the selling department.
