We are inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager, Statistical Modelling
In this role, you will be responsible for testing and improvement of various statistical models to improve forecast accuracy for the business.
Responsibilities
Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of parts forecast accuracy
Test and improve custom forecast models and algorithms to apply to demand data sets
Use predictive modelling in R to optimize inventory and improve fulfilment by better forecast
Test model quality/accuracy and suggest improvements
Coordinate with different functional teams to implement various steps in models and monitor outcomes
Understanding of trend, seasonality and outliers in data
Share key insights and areas of improvement to client leadership
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Masters in Statistics
Strong problem solving skills with an emphasis on statistical modelling
Experience using statistical languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
Experience in spare parts forecasting and statistical modelling
Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, exponential smoothing, crostons and other forecast models
Preferred qualifications
Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modelling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Spotfire, ggplot, etc.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
Advanced MS-Excel and VBA
