Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant Build & Release Engineer
In this role, As Principal Build & Release Engineer, you will build the foundation for Predix Cloud. You will help build the cloud services infrastructure, container and storage fabric, and platform as a service. You will also be responsible for deployment, monitoring, and capacity management of systems at web scale in a fully virtualized IaaS and PaaS operating environment. Working closely with Digital technical product managers, you will deliver the platform that runs the Industrial Internet.
Responsibilities
- Work with myriad technical and project teams in all SDLC phases to ensure maximum understanding and performance
- Engineer the Predix PaaS, which includes, but is not limited to: Container runtime environments (Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes), Virtual Storage Fabric, and Developer interfaces
- Build API s and other developer interfaces into the platform using contemporary programming languages
- Automate the delivery and maintenance of the PaaS using tools such as Chef
- Identify and define non-functional requirements including, but not limited to: backward compatibility, performance, reliability, scalability, privacy, and security
- Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders
- Provide timely and accurate estimates for deliverables
- Participate in strategic and tactical planning sessions
- Identify opportunities for automation and develop scalable solutions
- Lead and mentor members of the engineering team
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- B.E. Computer Science or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
Preferred qualifications/skills
- Deep understanding of cloud technologies (Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes,) and or data center management and development (VMWare).
- Significant knowledge of tools and projects: BOSH, OSSEC, CI/CD (Git, Jenkins), configuration management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
- Solid troubleshooting skills for development and customer support.
- Experience in one or more of the following: Java, Python, Go and shell scripting
- Experience with Linux operating systems internals and administration (e.g., filesystems, inodes, system calls) or networking (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, network topologies and hardware, SDN).
- Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks
- Experience with one or more of the following: Artifactory, Nexus, or other artifact repository
- Knowledge on Maven and/or other build tools
- Applied experience with modern application technologies and design patterns including Cloud infrastructure, distributed computing, horizontal scaling, and database technologies
- Proven success working with and optimizing applications for large scale enterprise performance
- Embraces technology trends that drive intelligent automation
- Fluent in both Russian and English languages.
