Sr Engineer - ML - Bengaluru/Bangalore @ HARMAN

Position Summary:

This position is within Harman Automotive Division, located in Bangalore, India. In this position you will be part of a global team, you will contribute to the design and development of park assist and surround view products. The ideal candidate will have good analytical skills, knowledge of engineering discipline, and experience in vision related ADAS functions.

What You Will Do:

• Work of state of the art neural network models for computer vision perception within ADAS portfolio (e-mirror, surround view, in-cabin monitoring, augmented reality)

• Work with big car data from a multitude of sensors

• Select statistical, machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to solve filtering, clustering and classification problems.

• Handle large-scale data sets and organization of relevant data

• Working closely with other senior machine learning researchers and engineers in autonomy

• As part of a matrix organization work with engineers, designers, testers and managers as needed to help integrate, evaluate and productize your solutions

• When needed, you will work with architects, engineers, designers, testers and managers in multiple locations as needed to help integrate and productize the solution

• Perform code reviews and other activities to ensure high-quality results

• Elicitate, analysis, write and adapt software requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• No formal role, but expected to be a peer mentor to others in the group

What You Need:

• Bachelor s Degree or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science or related field combined with software engineering and data science experience

• 5+ Years working in SW Engineering roles

• 2 years experience working in the field of machine learning for computer vision

• Hands-on experience in applied Machine Learning along with deep learning experience with frameworks such as tensorflow lite, Theano, keras or caffee

• Proficient in one or more relevant programming languages: c++, Python, C

• Enterprise level documentation skills

• Experience in software development for real-time embedded software with C or/and C++

• Basic ASPICE/SOTIF knowledge

• Experience with requirement management tools e.g. Doors, Polarion

• Ability to make team level decisions with little guidance

What is Nice to Have

• Experience in ADAS feature development and verification

• Hands-on experience with CNNs, 3D CNNs, multi-task mobilnets

• Understanding of statistics with the usage of the programming language R

• Advanced knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Mahout, ELK

• Background in Human Factors and globally distributed teams

• Strong analytical skills together with high self-learning capabilities

• Worked on ADAS projects feature development (CMS, DMS, SV, ARP)

• Flexibility and creativity in solution design including leveraging emerging technologies

• Proven test management know-how (ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level - Test Manager or similar)

• Knowledge of software testing standards (IEEE / ISTQB)

• Knowledge and experience with ASPICE and automotive use cases and requirements

• knowledge of modern Software Engineering

• Advanced knowledge of Java and proven hands-on experience

• Android development experience
