Job Description
*Python Developer
The Python Developer performs the following JOB FUNCTIONS:Conducts data research, analysis, validation and mapping of data residing in native format on various systems used in asset finance
Develops Python programs for processing data from various sources (e.g. Excel, CSV, SQL), and ingesting into and/or transmitting data to destination systems
Convert Python scripts / procedures to Microservices for deployment to AWS
Creates SQL queries, develops SQL stored procedures, and produces data extracts and worksheets to prepare the presentation and analysis of data residing in application databases;
Performs field or calculation-level mapping of data between systems and resolves, explains, or reconciles reported variances;
Designs detailed business reports listing data in format understandable to business users.
Independently responds to requests for ad hoc reports from business users and researches, investigates, resolves, or records reported errors in business application;
Provides applications expertise to business applications users;
Creates test business use cases;
Develops documentation, including technical guides, user instructions, and training materials;
Monitors business applications performance, reviews exception logs, and corrects non-conforming data;
Researches and tests new or unimplemented features and functionality;
Performs unit testing and assists to prepare environments for user acceptance testing of newly programmed modifications and enhancements.
General skills and abilities:- Development experience in Python. Should be skilled in using Python for creating backend and frontend software (e.g. using frameworks such as Flask).
- Ability to code queries using SQL, understand database structures, and familiarity with SQL functions, formats, and conventions.
- Basic knowledge of AWS
- Knowledge of finance, tax, and accounting terminology and concepts.
- Strong analytical skills; Aptitude for analyzing and interpreting data as it relates to loan and lease servicing, accounting, and reporting.
- Knowledge of specific business applications used in lease and loan administration.
- Ability to handle various tasks and deadlines with attention to detail.
- Solid skills and knowledge of Git/Excel/Access/Word.
- High level of flexibility and adaptability to varying client requirements
- Strong organizational skills; Ability to be a teammate and also work independently to produce assigned deliverables.
- Critical thinking skills; Initiative and self-motivation abilities.
- Communications skills:
- Effectively communicates with co-workers through written and verbal communication.
- Communicates with customers, internal groups, and other third parties in a professional manner
- Ability to train users and produce training materials
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Math or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Python, Sybase, SQL Server, MySQL, and / or Oracle SQL is required.
Experience in Finance, Loan and / or Lease administration experience is preferred.
