Job Description
The SharePoint Technical Architect functions as a technical lead overseeing the architecture, design, development, and support of the Clients public and internal facing SharePoint systems.
The SharePoint Architect plays a critical role in defining and delivering innovative web oriented solutions utilising Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013/2016/2019, Latest Windows SharePoint Services, SharePoint Designer 2013/2016/2019 and supporting Microsoft .Net Technologies including C#.
The SharePoint Architect will be responsible for the management of the Clients SharePoint infrastructure and the development the system architecture, designs and solution implementations for the Clients SharePoint system environments in support of the Clients business initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Develop solution architectures and implementation designs in support of the Clients businesstechnology initiatives. Provide technical and analytical guidance, developing and defining business and technical requirements and solution designs as part of defined projects.
- Implement SharePoint system solutions, including programming backend and frontend components extending the SharePoint environment/system capabilities.
- Lead technical design and development, evaluating and troubleshooting functional design and system architecture, component and framework programming, as well as playing a key role in the technical decision process.
- Develop and present conceptual and functional innovation prototypes for assessment and evaluation.
- Manage and maintain the Clients SharePoint system environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead SharePoint system technical analysis and design employing model and event driven design practices including conceptual and functional prototypes, data analysis, and architectural and functional testing.
- Develop product functional and technical requirements and design documents and specifications based on business requirements.
- Lead SharePoint solution development, and implementation efforts, providing technical design, system and architectural prototyping, and component development.
- Lead other teams in the organisation and guide people for industry standard coding practices and best solutions
- Create web oriented applications, developing coding constructs, frameworks, components and interfaces supported by the SharePoint environment.
- Shape the strategy, architecture, methodology and standards for delivering SharePoint solutions.
- Provide technical governance and security over the SharePoint environments.
Qualifications: Bachelor or Masters degree (preferable) or equivalent work experience in information systems or related field.
- 6+ years SharePoint 2013/2016 architecture, design, development and implementation experience.
6+ years of experience building web based systems with the Microsoft .Net technology stack employing the best practices of SOA architecture using C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, with SQL backend databases.
- 6+ years of Object Oriented development and design (OOD)
- Experience with implementing best practice SharePoint information architectures, workflows and mobile applications.
- Experienced with Microsoft SQLServer, T-SQL, Stored Procedures & Triggers.
- Experience using full lifecycle development methodologies with web based applications.
- Experience integrating with backed operational and content management systems.
- Experience working on component based applications including web services, application integration, patterns, and data access development.
- Microsoft SharePoint Certification (MCSE/MCSD).
- Experience with Association Management Systems.
- Experience in Marketing, Publication and/or Media industry.
Technical Skills and Abilities: Experience with the Microsoft Technology Stack including .Net Framework, C#, VB.Net, ADO.Net, ASP.Net.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint technologies MOSS 2010/2013, Windows SharePoint Services 3.0/4.0, SharePoint Designer, Portals and Web Part Development.
- Experience with web development technologies HTML, XHTML, XML, XSLT, Flash, CSS, Ajax, JQuery, JavaScript, SOAP/XML Web Services, and Silverlight
- Experience with Web/Portal structure and design, development, content management, usability, user experience interface design and navigation.
- Experience with utilising source management control tools for managing development, staging, test and production environments
- Ability to manage projects, perform technical design as well as program
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Knowledgeable of Agile methodologies (Feature Driven Design, Scrum, eXtreme)
- Strong Relational Database and SQL Skills
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with IT architectures, application, database, and technical
- Proficient in Microsoft Access, Visio, Word, & Excel
