Job Description
CATEGORIES:RIGGER FOREMAN: To Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in all rigging and lifting
activities, to ensure compliance with safety procedures and method statements. Must be familiar with heavy lift plans and procedures; To Assist and determine the proper method of lifting equipment for each assigned
project; To Assist with the set-up of crane; To Conduct basic loading of heavy lift projects by rigging the crane equipment and ensuring the proper use of each equipment method; To Direct crane operators to move equipment to and from work areas.

TALLY CLERK: To count goods and match them with shipping invoices and packing orders to ensure the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments. They record weights, measurements and dimensions of cargo. Tally clerks calculate storage, damage, shipping and receiving fees.
DOWELMAN: Commence the lashing & unlashing of containers immediately upon receiving the signal from the hatch foreman.Lashing and unlashing the containers as per the defined time limits and direct the switcher movement such that they are parked at the exact location under the crane. As directed by the foreman, arrange under crane all the materials required for handling of out of gauge containers. Ensure that twist locks and stoking cones are kept (a) near the crane spreader for manual locking systems and (b) at both ends of the vessel for vessels working vessels operating 4 or more cranes. Fix these on container top during loading and ensure they are unlocked during discharge for automated locking systems ensure to be on the quay side to fix, remove locks on lower edge of container during loading & discharge respectively.
LASHERS: Performs general stevedoring duties mainly but not limited to container and cargo lashing and unlashing, manual stuffing and de-stuffing of containers (if required), assisting at lining station in case of shortage.
LOCKERS: To maintain and clean the lockers and keep track of material
FORKLIFT OPERATORS: Unloading the merchandise and materials from the incoming vehicles and stacking them to the assigned locations in the storage facilities. Locating and moving the stock of products to crates or pallets for shipment or storage. Identifying damages and reporting quality deficiency or shortages to higher management.
STRADDLE CARRIER OPERATOR: To Drive four-wheeled vehicle that carries loads of materials beneath its elevated frame for short hauls within or near plant: Starts vehicle and drives astride load of materials, such as lumber, bundled sheet metal, cased citrus juice, or empty skids. Drives machine to specified delivery point, and moves levers to lower load to ground.
QUAY CRANE OPERATOR: Operate Quay Cranes for discharging and loading of containers, in accordance with safe operating procedures, performance targets and standards
ITV OPERATOR: Operate the machine until relieved end of the shift or as per the instructions of the Yard Supervisor/ Yard Foreman. Follow instructions dispatched from time to time by dispatcher through VMT. Update the VMT after execution of the assigned work order. Take instructions from the Yard Forman/ Tally Clerk for reassignment to make operations more streamlined. Hand-over all necessary information regarding the status of the equipment, and unfinished work to the next shift operator. Must have Licence to drive ITV
REACHERS STACKER/EMPTY CONTAINER HANDLERS: To Operate for receiving / loading / Shifting in the stack / housekeeping activity for containers to and from the yard for vessels operations or serving the land side customers for deliveries etc as per work order queues in a safe manner. Inspects equipment at beginning of shift to ensure that all of the parts are operating properly.
