Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Manages plant operational employees in the efficient performance of their duties, and the effective operation of the extrusion facility.
Responsible for directing plant activities to achieve optimum utilization of equipment and maximum efficiency in operations.
Responsible for assuring conformance of finished products to the customer specifications, division and industry.
Reviews the safety performance and training programs for the facility. Works closely with the plant personnel to ensure a safe and healthy work environment by taking an active role in the plant's safety programs and goals.
Recommends capital improvements for the plant which result directly in improved safety conditions, improved quality of finished product, resulting in added value, improved efficiency, or reduction of plant variable or fixed operating costs.
Manage materials and leverage off-set materials; forecasting and managing material usage, production output, labor cost, scrap rate, change-over times, etc.
Works closely with customer contacts (quality and purchasing) to insure coordination of activities and facilitation of customer relationship.
Works with direct reports to assure coordination of production activity and delivery schedules.
May be assigned special projects.

Must be committed to providing our customers a product that is safe and meets specifications, regulations and statutory requirements
Manage department/shifts by providing daily coaching, oversight, and troubleshooting, training, performance reviews, and providing performance feedback to employees to ensure all performance goals of the plant in relation to safety, waste, quality and productivity are achieved
