Job Role
AutoRABIT is looking for an Experienced Director of Engineering who will be joining to manage and grow our product. This position provides leadership to our product roadmap development team. The person will need to closely work with the product engineering, business operations and customer delivery leaders.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of current and future roadmap for the product engineering teams.
- Define and review engineering practices geared for developing a cloud native software platform.
- Communication of goals, objectives, performance and, as necessary, improvement plans.
- Should review, approve, and ensure the implementation of software that meets cloud scale.
- Provide appropriate resources and budget to deliver timely, effective, efficient, and predictable roadmap releases and continuing improvement of performance.
- Should be seen as a leader that can guide the teams as required in developing SaaS products that scales efficiently
- Be accountable for quality of all deliverables in every release including QoS such as performance, scalability, security and maintainability.
- Should own deployment of product to cloud every 2-4 weeks.
- Strong hold on different technologies, architecture and design patterns to lead and guide long term scalable, stable releases
- Extensive software engineering development and design experience with complex and highly scalable products using multiple technologies and languages.
- Own customer escalations and be at the forefront in collaborating with support, customer success teams. Provide information that helps teams to address issues and for customer facing teams to manage expectations.
- Be part of conversations with customers to explain root causes and remediation steps
- Create a collaborative environment with other teams such as CloudOps, Support, CS etc.
- Responsibility to define and adhere to set internal controls.
- Articulating and documenting vision, process improvements, designs and RCAs is very important
- Ability to lead the teams through the scaleup situation
- Ensure teams are managed to co-operate competitively while ensuring there isn't any unwanted attrition.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering leadership capacity and experience across a variety of technology stacks.
- Should have worked on Java based SaaS products/platforms.
- Should have high experience in developing software in developer/architect roles.
- Experience working with AWS/Azure using docker, Kubernetes, Kafka etc.
- Experience working with a team of product managers, architects and QA to challenge the development team decisions/deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience with working on a data and number driven approach with JIRA/Git/SonarQube etc. to drive goals and deliverables.
- Should have experience managing a SaaS team that deploys product to cloud every 2-4 weeks.
- Should be able to manage the complete dev to prod pipeline with right checks and balances for quality deliverables.
- Should have been part of teams that transformed products from monolith to service-oriented architecture for Cloud scale.
- Demonstrated ownership even in adverse situations.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills to pursue correct engineering process in adverse conditions.
- Ability to work efficiently in a startup environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelors or masters degree in Computer science/Information Systems/Business.
- Professional certifications in Software development and/or Project Management.
- Very good written and verbal communication skills.
