Roles and Responsibilities
Data Modeler must be able to collaboratively work in an Agile team to design, develop and maintain data structures for the Enterprise Data Platform & Analytics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on processes that interface with multiple systems including AWS, Oracle, Middleware and ERPs. The candidate will lead development projects, pilots, and advance best design practices.
What will you do
Participate in requirements definition, analysis, and the design of logical and physical data models.
Leading data discovery discussions with Business in JAD sessions and map the business requirements to logical and physical data modeling solutions.
Conduct data model reviews with project team members
Capture technical metadata through data modeling tools
Ensure database designs efficiently support BI and end user requirements
Drive continual improvement and enhancement of existing systems.
Collaborate with ETL/Data Engineering teams to create data process pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.
Collaborate with Data Architects for data model management, documentation, and version control.
Maintain expertise and proficiency in the various application areas
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and standards
Experience
Strong Experience in Data Analysis and Data Profiling using ERWIN for databases like Oracle, SQL Server or AWS Redshift type databases.
Experience in modelling Data warehouse and Data Lake environments.
Experience in Data Visualization tools like Power BI will be added advantage
Tool & Technology Skills
8+ years of strong Data Analysis and Data Profiling skills
6+ years of strong Conceptual, Logical and Physical data modeling for VLDB Data warehouse
Hands on experience with modeling tool such as ERWIN or another industry standard tool
Fluent in both normalized and dimensional model disciplines and techniques
Minimum of 3 years experience in Oracle Database (11g or above).
Hands experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
Exposure to ETL tool Informatica and Spark (Python or Scala) or other industry leading tools
Good knowledge or experience with AWS Redshift design and management.
Working Knowledge on AWS Cloud technologies, mainly on the services of VPC, EC2, S3, DMS and Glue.
Bachelors degree in software engineering, computer science or information systems (or equivalent experience)
Excellent verbal and written communication skill including the ability to describe complex technical concepts in relatable terms.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple workstreams and confidence in making decisions about how to prioritize work efforts
Data-driven mentality. Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail oriented
Exposure to AWS Data Lake, AWS Lambda, AWS S3, Kafka, Redshift, Sage Maker would be added advantage
Exposure to data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau or AWS Quick sight.
Functional Knowledge in the areas of Sales & Distribution, Material Management, Finance and Production Planning is preferred
