Job Description

This opening is for a C/C++ Software Engineer who will be supporting several software projects using the Windows desktop environment (not browser implemented). These projects consist of image capture, processing and analysis as well as hardware control. The tasks will generally involve development and testing of a new pattern of UX or functionality then performing implementation across the projects. The successful candidate will be well-rounded in software engineering, self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
The candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills to be able to understand complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. The candidate may be asked to present their work and results to both internal and external customers, so presentation skills are desired. They will also have to work with technical writers to document application functionality.
To be considered a candidate must have:
Bachelors degree in CS/EE/CE
Strong working knowledge of C/C++ in a Windows desktop environment ( Windows messaging, Win32, MFC, STL )
Experience with Visual Studio and code versioning ( Git etc. )
A minimum of two years experience with software development.
Ability to assist in migrating legacy applications to current UI / UX, migrating structures to classes etc.
Ability to work directly with Programmers on providing data requirements and customer application development
Additional preferred skills :
Math, Geometry and image processing.
UI & UX modernization and redesign experience.
Hardware control, interfacing with firmware.
Display rendering such as Direct X.
