Role Overview:

McAfee is a leader in threat research. As a security researcher in our core research team, you will focus on reverse engineering and advance malware analysis. The candidate must have the passion and experience necessary to turn research findings into practical threat detections.

About the role:

• You must have Awareness of threats around the globe, regional threats and top adversaries / criminal groups focusing on malware including affiliate networks pertaining to Windows OSes.
• Process incoming requests from customers and Support team regarding malware analysis and detection.
• Provide static and Dynamic analysis of malwares including - infection, propagation, lateral movement, exploitation POCs, etc.
• Can extract malicious patterns from an object and author effective detection rule.
• Participate in the incident response process on need basis.
• Support clear communications on researched malware incidents.
• Prepare analysis of an incident, remediation instructions, and assist a customer.
• Share your most exciting research findings through blogs and internal presentations.

About You:

• 3+ years of Security industry experience involving Python, Django, Dynamic Analysis, and reverse engineering,
• Understanding of PE file format.
• Knowledge of Windows OS internals - memory, threads, processes, API, etc.
• Proficiency in debuggers usage (OllyDbg, IDA pro)
• Experience with network traffic analysis tools (Wireshark, Fiddler)
• In-Depth Programming experience in C, Python and Django
• Knowledge of Networking protocols

Additional Qualifications

• Understanding of Linux, MacOS malware and its threat landscape
• Knowledge and understanding of other file formats.
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-driven, proactive, hardworking, team-player with a good sense of humor
