S&P Global Platts The Role: Senior Software Developer The Location: Hyderabad Grade: 10A The Team: S&P Global Platts Content Creation Platforms technology team supports a large revenue stream for Platts. Working very closely with the Product owner and Development Manager, this team is responsible to implement new content distribution tool. The Impact: This position directly interacts with the business team to understand their requirements and the added value to the business customers. The role provides exposure to the business and functional model of the company. The applications being worked on are highly business centric and revenue generating. Your challenge will be reducing the 'time to market' for the product/platform without compromising quality, by leveraging automation and innovation. What's in it for you: The successful candidate will assist in the design, implementation, and support of solutions for managing editorial content. Skills required include Java, Javascript, CSS / HTML, AJAX, XML / XSLT, SQL, Oracle and NoSQL. Candidate must be able to work well with a distributed team, demonstrate an ability to articulate technical solutions for business requirements, have experience supporting content management/packaging solutions, and embrace a collaborative approach for the implementation of solutions including create technical documentation for review by technical leads and architecture team. Experience in content creation, publishing and content management is required and any experience in the commodities markets, price assessment, analysis and news sectors will be beneficial Responsibilities: Work on all aspects of software development life cycle following agile methodologies. Must be able to complete a complex software lifecycle: scope, design, code, test and implement Debug and test existing application programs Analyze, design, develop, test and deploy phases of development projects. Design database schemas, conceptual data models, UI workows and application architectures that t into the enterprise architecture. Write optimal SQL queries and store-procedures to ensure good performance for database operations Apply Object-Oriented Design and Programming to build component-based middle tier RESTful web services with high throughput. Gather information and feedback from end users to understand and develop project requirements. Conduct project design sessions and design solutions to meet current project requirements and be exible enough to accommodate futures project needs. Performs reviews and integration testing to assure quality of project development eorts. Ensure project tasks are assigned and completed in a timely manner and project milestone dates are met. What we're looking for: Basic Qualifications: 5+ years experience in an agile team development role, delivering software solutions using Scrum. Java, J2EE, Javascript, CSS / HTML, AJAX React.js or any UI Framework, Spring boot, RESTful services, OAuth XML, JSON, XSLT transformation SQL and NoSQL Databases (Oracle essential) Messaging / queuing solutions (JMS, Kafka, etc) Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services - concepts and using APIs Experience with agile workflow tools (e.g. JIRA, VersionOne) Experience with source code management tools, build management tools and continuous integration Self-starter able to work to achieve objectives with minimum direction Comfortable working independently as well as in a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Analysis of business information patterns, data analysis and data modeling. Working with user experience designers to deliver end-user focused benefits realization. Familiar with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Familiar with WebLogic Familiar with application security development/operations best practices (including static/dynamic code analysis tools) Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign (including Indesign Server, scripting).
