Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists the Manager and/or Director in overseeing programming and development projects within IT. Leads and manages multiple complex projects simultaneously, tracks financial information with respect to projects and monitors progress. Works well independently and in a team environment. Works with minimal supervision. Communicates technical information to business users and translates business requirements into technical specifications.
Project Management:
- Requirements gathering, specification documentation, project planning/coordination and resource management.
- Delivers projects on time, within budget and within agreed tolerances. Establishes and updates plans with actuals and forecasts. Manages plan deviations. Liaises with the project sponsors and/or clients (business or customer).
- Escalates decisions and unresolved issues. Documents all obstacles and delays. Reports to respective stakeholders. Documents and obtains necessary approvals for all project changes. Closes all project documentation and archives as appropriate.
Applications/Solutions Development:
- Coordinates/Assists with enterprise IT initiatives within the organization. Works with other IT teams and various initiatives where necessary. Works on development projects and tasks for enterprise systems. Works on the development of specialized applications and systems. Architecture, software/system design, system/transaction analysis and research. Oversees maintenance and offers support/assistance.
Administration:
- Travels in support of Sitel, IT or approved client initiatives, where necessary. Focuses on staff management and administration, with minimal budget responsibility
Education
- (if beyond High School or equivalent): 4-year college degree in Computer Science or Information Management Systems preferred.
Experience Target
- (in this job or a related function/field): 6-8 years of progressive experience within IT development organization(s) preferred, with at least 3 years of experience in a 24x7 development/support organization. Supervisory experience a plus.
