Job Description


Prime Responsibilities -To carry out responsibility of all technical matters pertaining to the assigned project -To identify risk areas along with mitigation plan in consultation with Group Leader -To review critical documents of the project such as Design Criteria, specifications and Standard Drawings. -Interface with Design Engineering Centres for the offloaded Proposal and Detailed engineering activities and resolution of Interface Issues -Support quality assurance and HSE compliance audits for civil projects and reviews in accordance with Project requirements -Review and analyse tender documents to understand the scope of work. -Guide / Coach Team members on technical issues -Attend meeting with Client and Construction -Design change Management and provide inputs to the project management -Ensure that the work is carried out as per company Quality and HSE policy -Maintains focus on quantity optimization and project cost -Support department in recruitment, training and other developmental activities. -Support Project Manager in all discussions with the client -Participation & drive Value Engineering with Fit for the Purpose approach -Timely issuance of engineering deliverable and monitoring release of HOLDs -Participate in 3D model review (30%, 60% & 90%) and support for close out of all tags -Monitor engineering quality and fully engage to diagnose and correct action plan -Continuous improvement in design tools, efficiencies and overall quality of deliverables -Update and create engineering policies and procedures as required to improve efficiencies and adjust to new markets -Participate in monthly project review sessions to stay current on status of on-going projects Shared cross-functionally -Actively communicate with other disciplines to optimize areas of interface during the design development -Support/ implement departmental quality management programs -Work with teams to develop engineering budgets estimates for work share projects -Assist with hiring, training, and mentoring-Ensure proper training programs are conducted within the departments to keep staff current on latest technology and procedures -Build strong cohesive teams that works together -Work closely with project teams to establish annual goals and initiatives to advance the teams and maintain a high level of competency and exceptional quality MS Project, Primavera knowledge.
  • CAD software- used to create project plans
  • Project management concepts- from cost estimation to implementation processes, civil project managers need to be schooled in all aspects of project management processes
  • Microsoft Office applications- used for communicating with subcontractors, construction site managers, vendors and other professionals
  • Building codes and safety regulations- civil project managers need to be familiar with all federal and local codes and safety guidelines relevant to the project they are working on
