Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree in Computer Science or closely related subject. In addition, 8 or more years experience in designing large and complex SW Development operations in large organizations is required. The position requires strong leadership and team-building skills, and must be able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals. The job would require the following components roughly
1. DevOps Architecture , Design and Development (30%)
2. Build and Release engineering of flagship PFT Product Lines , CI/CD Pipelines (30%)
3. Consultation and Thought Leadership (20%)
4. DevOps Team Mentoring (20%)
Skillset Required:
- Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps (Product Deployments,Docker, CI/CD,Build & Release management/Automation) and Cloud Infra Azure / AWS cloud architecture, Security and implementation features.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for in house product called CLEAR ERP DevOps end-to-end architecture, including Build Pipelines/CI/CD, Cloud infra AWS and future providers, networking, Deployment , and management .
- Handle along with the team all DevOps Operations and Escalations, plan new Development Projects, CLEAR Deployments , Infra expansion, migrate organization workloads from On premises to Cloud.
- Act as the coach and mentor to team members and technical staff on their assigned project tasks , Develop a cohesive team and ensure their continued success. Lead the definition and development of cloud reference architecture and management systems
- Conduct product work , Governance, Cloud Security reviews with team members across all DevOps tools and processes.
- Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes
- Responsible for heading DevOps Team and provide directions/mentorship to existing team of DevOps engineers.
- Understand organization development process and bring in changes to improve Build, Release and Deployment process for in house developed product.
- SW Build and release for .Net and Java source code , building required CI/CD Pipelines - provisioning, capacity planning, Reporting & SW Configuration Management using SVN and GIT.
- Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the CLEAR application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud
- Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the why, and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation
- Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest DevOps /Cloud trends, technology, etc.
- Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications
- Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment
- Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements
- Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners
- Ensure delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors to size and manage scope and risk
- Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to DevOps team members and SW Development architects, deployment, and support operations
- Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements
- Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts
- Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
- 8 + years of experience spanning DevOps based Build and Release , CI/CD , Dockers, Kubernetes and application development, middleware, database management or operations
- Good knowledge of Azure / Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
- Experience of managing a DevOps Team is desired
- Strong experience in managing both development and operations
- Must have good experience in Kubernetes, Docker, ELK, Nagios, Chef/Ansible, Terra-form, Sparkle Formation, TFS, SVN, GitLab, Jenkins etc,
- Must be comfortable with Linux & windows Administration
- Must have working knowledge of Python/ Shell scripting
- You exhibit expertise in software development methodologies
- Experience as a team manager for a large diverse team preferred
- Knowledge of all components of an technical architecture
- Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
