Job Description

  • Leads a team within a Competence Centre. Responsible for capability building within the team s competence area and for staff development of direct reports, with support and guidance from the CC Manager.
  • Ensures optimal resource utilization within the team and leverages contractor resources when required, in alignment/discussion with the CC Manager. Implements the functional excellence agenda in the team in partnership with the CC Manager by leveraging Methods and Standards and provision of quality assurance against these. Contributes to the functional excellence agenda.
  • Is the face of IT Capabilities across a single or limited scope of business domains, which is likely to be regional or local in geographical scope.
  • Manages projects and programs, and supervises and coaches team members responsible for delivering projects.
  • Provides advanced level of input concerning assigned scope of work.
  • Has frequent exposure to and interaction with senior levels of business leadership (EC-2 and EC-3).
  • Works independently under minimal managerial supervision. Delivers the work as assigned, applying the work procedures, frameworks. Guidance provided for those tasks where there are limited precedents available.

The Capability Centre Leader for Backend and Microservices technologies will play a key role in the company IT  mission of delivering value differentiating products to the company businesses globally. This technical leadership role aims to deepen the company development capability in all parts of the backend stack, be it DevOps, Databases, Backend logic.

You will be responsible to support in driving the vision for software engineering technologies and processes across the company and leading high-performance engineering teams to deliver customer-centric, value enabling business outcomes. A key aspect of your role will be recruit and develop talent from within the local market , consult with various businesses around potential cloud-native solutions to be developed.

Objectives: -

  • Build, nurture and grow high performance teams using Agile Engineering principles
  • Act as a technical leader sharing own experience, insights and energy, adopting a hands-on approach where needed
  • Set technical agenda for products closely with business
  • Define technology / approach right at the beginning, designing innovative architectures based on cloud native technologies and platforms
