Job Description
Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe PHP Developer is expected to be able to perform all aspects of the development tasks, including front- end, back- end, and database development.
Develop web sites, applications and rich multi- media experiences according to the brief and technical specifications.
Strong fundamentals in web programming/development languages including use of PHP & JavaScript and Experience with PHP debugging and testing.
Proficiency in jQuery, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, AJAX and also in responsive front-end frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap) Familiar with REST APIs and integration with third-party APIs.
Collaborating with other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.
Complete understanding on how to work in an agile team and have the ownership to ensure that Web Chapter definition of ready, and definition of done are fulfilled.
The applicant is expected to possess strong problem-solving skills programming, testing and troubleshooting skills.
Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core web products and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality.
Adhering to project coding standards and recommending improvements modifying existing web assets to correct errors, allowing it to function in new operating environments.
Hands-on expert level technical skills required:
Excellent skills in PHP/JavaScript
Must have knowledge in MySQL
Expert in HTML and CSS
Must have Strong object-oriented programming skills
Must have knowledge of web services and serialization techniques like REST, SOAP, XML & JSON.
Solid understanding of web application performance, caching, user experience optimization Ability to test debug and solve any technical issues in any web application
Code quality assurance and ability to adopt good design patterns into the application design A good understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, Mercurial, or SVN.
Familiarity with content management system platforms such as WordPress.
Must be a team player with good communications
Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
Great aptitude and attitude towards learning
Take full responsibility for task/project execution
Ability to prioritize own work and respect deadlines
Good to have skills:
Understanding of emerging asynchronous technologies such as Angular or React.
Understanding of UX/UI principles with a high attention to details. NodeJS will be an added advantage.
