Job Description
As a drainage engineer, you will work with your team in construction of drainage systems and sewage. You will be involved in the planning and designing of drainage systems, allocating the budget for its creation, and, together with the construction team, build the design on the location specified. Your team oversee the construction, making sure all instructions are followed. You are also responsible for maintaining the system, repairing if there is damage.
Responsibilities
- Work with your team to Design systems that prevent flooding and transport water from one place to another Planning and designing of drainage systems
- Helping to design flood management or defense systems and Visiting sites to gain an understanding of the project
- Liaising with other teams and departments
- Preparing costs and schedules
- Working with clients to ensure that their requirements are fulfilled, and expectations met
- Assessing the environmental impact of proposed works
- Visiting the site during construction to make sure the works are completed to specification
