Job Description


Role Proficiency:
Independently execute test cases; supporting testing team members in execute test cases
Outcomes:
  1. Construct test plan and scenarios based on customer requirements
  2. Construct and execute systematic test cases by referring to test scenarios for embedded systems based on test specifications or requirements
  3. Create automation scripts for test specifications
  4. Ensure that new and revised components or systems perform to expectation
  5. Document test results and report defects
  6. Ensure meeting of standards including usability performance reliability or compatibility
  7. Develop proficiency of other testers in project
  8. Develop and modify the processes practises and procedures based on lessons learned in the engagement

Measures of Outcomes:
  1. Timely completion of all task
  2. Number of test cases / scripts developed in comparisons to the benchmark
  3. Number of test cases / scripts executed in comparisons to the benchmark
  4. Number of valid defects
  5. Review Function and Software Test Specifications in the expected format.
  6. Adherence to project quality processes as per demand.
  7. Number of automation scripts created to reduce manual execution time
  8. Post team review in comparison with benchmark
  9. Adherence to Agile scrum process.

Outputs Expected:
Requirements:
  1. Participate seek clarifications understand review
  2. Certified in ISTQB

Test Design
Development
Execution:
  1. Test features and component with good understanding of business problem being addressed for the client
  2. Conduct gap analysis between requirement specification and test plan using his/her technology and domain expertise
  3. Identify testable module and create test plan document
  4. Obtain signoff on test plan
  5. Identify and create test cases and test data
  6. Conduct Sanity testing for system readiness check
  7. Execute test cases and scripts
  8. Identify log and track defects
  9. Login productivity data

Debug:
  1. Able to root cause the defects creating a work around for the defects

Manage Defects:
  1. Regression tests and defect analysis reports

Status Reporting:
  1. Reporting for the test activities for the team including multiple testers

Estimate:
  1. Estimate time effort and resource dependence for ones own work
  2. Support lead for team effort estimation

Skill Examples:
  1. Ability to review requirements to identify ambiguities
  2. Skill in developing test plans based on identified embedded module
  3. Ability to design test cases / scripts / requirements
  4. Ability to apply techniques to design efficient test cases / script
  5. Ability to set up the hardware and execute tests
  6. Ability to write automation scripts and verify
  7. Ability to collaborate with teams

Knowledge Examples
  1. Knowledge of testing tools and testing standards
  2. Understanding of tools relevant to embedded systems
  3. Knowledge of testing types - unit integration system testing
  4. Knowledge on CAN UDS protocol OS Automotive standards.
  5. Familiar with Agile Methods - Scrum and Kanban
  6. Knowledge on embedded C programming testing concepts python and automation scripts.
