Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:
The Senior Consultant is primarily responsible for serving as a technical lead for database-centric software development projects of moderate-to-high complexity.
End-to-end Database Development Encompassing Database Design and Development, coordinating and working with cross-functional teams in accordance with business requirements and Organizational goals.
Additional responsibilities include:
Strong experience in database modelling skills
Experience with AWS, other cloud-based database deployments and troubleshooting
Hands-on database development skills with ability to write high performance stored procedures and SQL scripts.
Responsible for writing advanced T-SQL queries, complex joins indexes, triggers, stored procedures, schema design, and validation of SQL queries.
Good understanding of RDBMS concepts (Indexing, Locks)
One on one support for development and test engineers (DB server activities like backup, restore, SQL Agent)
Experience with Microsoft SSRS
Experience with Agile processes.
Experience with designing or developing for high-transaction rate enterprise systems
Liaison with Manager to provide database development support to the engineering team.
Contribute to patterns and practices used by Database Team.
Analyze and optimize DB code for performance improvements
Provide production support and troubleshooting of system or customer issues
Debug and fix problems
Analyze requirements; develop/code the application as per the specification and coding standards.
Understand programming well enough to learn new languages and scripting quickly.
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Installation, configuration and maintenance of MS SQL Server.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
A team player, process oriented and should have good attitude.
Performing hands-on software development and design while serving as sr. consultant.
Handling multiple projects/teams simultaneously
Following established company and department standards and best practices
Creating and updating project plans and/or task checklists for assigned projects
Key Skills (Primary):
At least 6 to 8 years experience in working hands-on with MS SQL Server 2012 or 2014 or 2016 or 2019.
Need to have good knowledge of RDBMS concepts & DB design.
Needs to be strong in writing Views, Stored Procedures, User Defined Function and Triggers.
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and monitoring with SQL Profiler, troubleshooting tools and other related monitoring tools.
Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization.
Analyze requirement, develop/code the application as per the specification and coding standards and perform tasks/project planning. Also provide impact/effort analysis.
Understand programming well enough to learn new languages.
Coding and unit testing (Test Driven Development/Unit testing)
On time delivery.
Proving the quality of the work by unit testing and code reviews
Code refactoring and peer code reviews.
SSRS report development using TSQL
SSIS ETL package development
Experience on understanding and writing DMV functions and Queries.
Experience in high availability services like AlwaysOn Failover Cluster Instances AlwaysOn Availability Group, In-Memory OLTP Engine, Replication and Log shipping and Basic Availability Group.
Experience in implementing data security in the form of data encryption.
Reviews, deploys, mentors, and trains developers/report writers in SQL development/query fine tuning, report query design and development.
Key Skills (Secondary):
Knowledge of ASP, VB Script, XML and Python will be an added advantage.
Well versed in current software development practices and tools, including: Virtual environments .
Build, deploy and test automation using commonly available tool.
Health Care domain knowledge is an added advantage.
