Job Description
Ensuring placement efficiency of vehicles for movement of raw materials across the country (ex-works vendor dispatches, inter-plant RM transfers, port to plant transfers etc.)
Liaise with 40+ logistics service providers (transporters) for ensuring placement efficiency
Report and monitor allied transportation-related aspects viz. vehicular non-compliances at plants, insurance cases etc.
To ensure prompt clearance of freight bills and to extensively interact with SSC in this regard
Primary Responsibilities:
Servicing
Daily monitoring of ordered Vs placed vehicles, liasoning with transporters, follow-ups in ensuring there
are no placement defaults.
Calling quotes and sharing details with seniors for quote finalization.
Ensure service entries are created by plants for all IPTMS.
Payment Performance
Calling of quarterly outstanding statements in prescribed format.
Co-ordinating with transporters & SSC for resolution of problems and ensuring timely clearance of
freight bills within defined credit days.
Freight contract Management
Preparation of freight rate upload file, Error free freight rate uploads, maintenance of various QRs and
MF in records for Audit sake, maintenance of filenet documents
Local intransit insurance
Ensure compliance
Follow up with all concerned and ensure
Review regularly to ensure insurance cases are settled in time & none missed out
Insurance tracker, intimation, documents collection, debit /credit note and end to end closure of insurance claims with transporters
Monthly reports
Placement efficiency
Insurance tracker and Insurance value working report

Monthly activity ppt
Operational improvements/initiatives
Review compliance of documented procedures and provide compliance confirmation to hierarchy.
Correct any anomalies identified by the above exercise
Self-certification & audit-related points
Process compliance and assurance
Identify key processes related to reports generation and document the same
Change / Modify documentation for existing processes identified during this exercise.
IT related
Aid the relevant teams for testing and implementation of IT projects
Act as an interface between IT and Transporter
Legal contracts implementation with Legal team
Checking and extending portal facility to all transporters, facilitating and coordinating in E hundi and digital signature implementation
5S
Organize work area for efficient and effective performance by identifying and storing the items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining the new order

Scope of Work:
Financial Scope: No direct deliverables on the spends. However, opportunities for freight cost reduction to be explored and highlighted
People Management Scope: No direct reportees
Geography Coverage: Country-wide
Corporate Coverage: Raw Materials transportation to all Deco plants/OPCs
Key Interaction:
Internal: Purchase team (for truck placement), SSC team (for issues w.r.t freight payment), Corporate, Insurance team, Imports team (for port-plant dispatches)
External: Raw Materials transporters (40+ nos)
