 Retail Business development Manager

Job Description

  • To approach the property owner and franchisee at the right time and get a profitable deal despite intense competition for space and visibility. It is important to build a good market reputation
  • Collaborate with the legal, project, operations, commercial and other teams to ensure that the deal/agreement with the property owner is law-abiding and is executed on time, as per required standards.
  • Plan the development of retail business and build relationships to enhance market presence
    • Identifies locations that could enhance brand visibility and contribute to brand success story
    • Negotiate with shopping mall owners to procure space for EBOs by convincing them about the business case and business model which would add value to the mall
    • Develop a great business relationship with mall owners or third party leasing agents to keep a few stores in the pipeline for future projects, for the next financial year
    • Negotiate the rent of stores to maintain a targeted rent to revenue ratio
    • Plan closure of stores if necessary
    • Network with partners and leasing agents to procure EBOs that are capital-lite in terms of investment
  • Customer-Centric business development
    • franchisee onboarding to expand retail footprints through business partners
    • Plan the structural design and layout of the EBO with the operations and project teams
    • Coordinate with the project team to ensure that the store is ready within the time.
  • Ensure that the development of business pertaining to EBOs follows legal standards and protocols                                            
    • Coordinate with the internal legal team or external legal advisors to ensure that all legal pre-requisites and standards of agreement pertaining to EBOs between the landlord/franchise/other party and the company is proper
  • Enable Retail Operations to generate revenue                                 
  • Coordinate with landlord/leasing party to ensure that they deliver the required/agreed upon materials and resources and rent out the store on time such that launch, stocking and other operations can follow seamlessly
