Platform Power and Performance Lead

Job Description

In this position, you will be responsible for understanding memory subsystem level performance(bandwidth/latency) and TDP design, define performance metrics, design experiments to collect KPI metric data and calibrate power and performance KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) based on integrated software and hardware packages to secure the quality of our released SW/FWs. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Expertise in power and performance benchmarking, modelling, regression validation methodologies;
Build power and performance benchmarking process, plan. Execute benchmarking plan and optimize performance iteratively across product release cycles
Play as a gate keeper to ensure software/firmware stacks meet platform performance and power requirements before release to internal and external customers;
Identify potential performance/power product issues via benchmarking, drive product issues with program management and other component teams to resolve
Closely collaborate with our silicon enabling, software development, firmware development, and various components teams to optimize and tune from top application layer, firmware all the way down to silicon RTL level to meet KPI requirements.
Ensure process compliance and proactively improve workflows, best practices and tools;

Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position

-Candidate must possess a Masters or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or a related discipline

7 years of validation or debug experience

-Desired 5+ years experience on platform performance and power optimization

-Good problem solver with strong hands on skills for programming using Python/Unix Shell scripting/C and able to do source code level tuning and debug software/ firmware issues and build scripts for automating workload generation and measurement tasks

-Good understanding of our Architecture Operating System Drivers, BIOS flows, memory subsystem performance design fundamentals

,familiarity with popular server workloads measurement methodologies including SPECCPU, Linpack, FIO, MLC, SpecPower is highly desired

Experience must also be inclusive of

1> Platform validation and or debug experience our Architecture and Server Platform experience

2>Familiarity with debugging tools such as our ITP based environments, protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, power meters and DAQs

3> Must be willing to engage with external customers when needed

4> Experience with Python or Unix Shell script development
