Job Description
Position DescriptionThe Project Management Consultant is responsible for planning, executing, evaluating, and managing work streams and projects in a highly dynamic business portfolio. Key success factors include influencing and managing expectations, tasks, and approaches for high performance project teams, reporting status to the respective Project Sponsors and executive enterprise stakeholders, and ensuring effective project using the appropriate tools and collaborative engagement with team members.
Primary Focus and Goals
Leverage fundamental project management mechanics and best practices to plan, execute and deliver project successfully to provide value and meet clients business needs.
Build and track project schedules, communicating any scope and schedule variance to management.
Leverage deep understanding of project lifecycles including waterfall and how to manage dependencies between Agile Scrum teams and waterfall life cycle projects.
Manage and work with 3rd party vendors, partners to drive cross-business unit project dependencies.
Manage changes/approvals in accordance with program/business steering committees.
Understand, support, and deliver portfolio Metrics tracking / reporting.
Identify, manage, and support key stake holders expectations.
Deliver weekly / monthly status reporting to key stakeholders.
Work cooperatively with Client leadership to address any associated risks and issues quickly and successfully.
Prepare Project Closeout Reports, including lessons learned.
Play the role of Scrum Master Servant Leader as required on projects:
Facilitate Scrum events
Coach and lead Scrum teams to stable velocity with healthy team dynamics
Assist Scrum team in resolving or removing impediments.
Coach and support Product Owner in maintaining backlog.
Work closely with Product Owner to manage team priorities and scope each sprint.
Plan/track all external team dependencies and help resolve bottlenecks.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelors degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience
5-8+ years of Project Management experience in a large enterprise environment
1-3+ years of Agile/Scrum working experience.
Proficiency in computer software such as Azure DevOps, MS Project, MS Power Point and Excel
Ability to build and manage relationships across a large enterprise.
Strong cross functional and enterprise program delivery experience
Ability to influence decisions from top down and bottom up.
Solid analytical, problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the agile maturity transformation of teams
Agile / Scrum certification(s)
PMP Certification
