Software Build Test Engineer - Hyderabad @ NCR Corporation

Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

Retail Build Test Engineer is responsible for the Systems administrator, VM management , build generation and build testing s for the Advanced Checkout System (ACS). The candidate must act as SCM and QA engineer and able to swift the roles based on the need. The candidate should be able to work closely with DevOPs and test teams and able to support both teams in build management and manual testing. Should have strong communications and technical skills in order to maintain the customer source code archives/branches. The candidate must also be able to facilitate the delivery of software updates to the customer on an as needed basis. The candidate will work closely with developers and testers to gather and submit code versions and configuration information in reference to the ACS Software Suite.

Essential Functions:

• Provide support to the team in setting up the required environments like servers, VM images etc.
• Provide technical support during software installation or configuration.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality.
• Act as the gatekeeper to the customer source code archives/branches.
• Monitor activity within each customer archive/branch.
• Monitor customer build JIRA statuses to ensure builds are generated in a timely manner.
• Perform periodic, non-production builds of the archive/branches.
• Maintain and provide information about past deliveries and historical archive information.
• Provide consultation services in reference to the customer software and delivers.
• Implement process improvements to gain operational efficiencies.
• Must possess excellent oral, written and troubleshooting skills.
• Maintain different Build Box Servers environments from OS perspective (64 Bit vs 32 Bit, 2008 vs 2016 etc.) its memory management, release versions.
• Maintain different versions of QA System environments, Working with QA to include/add/edit necessary test suite scripts etc., Work with Automation Builds etc.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in a related area (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Services, Management Information Services) or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years experience system admin, Build management and QA
• Must exhibit good judgment in decision making.
• Ability to work independently - willing to ask tough questions and investigate / experiment to find answers.
• Previous experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations.
• Experience with database SQL, scripting such as JavaScipt, VB Script, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, .NET, and Agile workflow methodologies.
• Familiar with Installation procedures/mechanisms for Visual Studio 2008
• Familiar with Windows server maintenance and upgradation and migrations
