Job Description
Context & Role:
Context:
Savings category refers to all retail business sourced wherein the underlying products offer money back to the customers and may be traditional or linked structures. These products cover the customer needs for medium to long term savings for various life goals through endowment or income plans. For clarity, this category does not include pure protection products (with or without ROP benefit) and pure retirement/annuity products. The savings category includes the whole value proposition that PMLI offers to customers through the policy life cycle including any value added services.
The incumbent will have the responsibility of supporting the Savings Category. Success is defined in terms of achievement of desired sales, mix of non par, par and ULIP sales in various PMLI proprietary and third party channels. The incumbent will be responsible for development and management of PMLI savings products. The person in this role needs to work in close partnership with sales, investments, marketing, training, underwriting, claims and other support functions to ensure PMLI achieves its KPIs for savings business.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and drive savings category sales through PMLI channels. Develop appropriate sales pitches, , competition product analysis and counter pitches for sales teams, internal marketing campaigns etc.
Work closely with training teams to cascade product messaging and any new pitches. Competition tracking for new product launches or any other signature moves, gap analysis, new product development, filing and launch as required.
Extensive interactions with sales teams and distributors to receive their feedback, inputs and ideas and to funnel them into appropriate actions. Work with Ops and Underwriting teams to ensure best in class and risk appropriate on-boarding processes are put in place for savings business. Also appropriate controls are put in place to mitigate any fraud risk.
Innovation in terms of developing sales pitches for existing products and new product designs. Category development with relevant value added services to increase customer engagement.
Regular monitoring of the Savings portfolio and management updates on the same.
Required qualifications and experience :
Graduate or Post Graduate with Prior experience of working in a similar set-up in another Life insurance company is preferable.
Candidates may be considered with prior experience of sales strategy/training/product management/analytics/underwriting(loan/insurance) in a Financial Service organization. Any prior experience of frontline sales will be an advantage.
Knowledge and skills desired :
Overall understanding of life Insurance business and customer life-cycle
Understanding of life insurance products
Entrepreneurial spirit, Strong written and verbal communication, Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems
Stakeholder management/Ability to interact and communicate well with the senior leadership team of the company.
Ability to influence and get work done from cross functional teams (not directly reporting)
