Job Description


Summary
The EHS Leader is responsible to lead the LM Wind Power EHS activities and supports business and operations full time. Function's mission is to be completely integrated in all large or small process of the enterprise in order to strategize, analyze, advise, and create adapted solutions to facilitate the business growth model, with a particular focus on all Environment, Health & Safety related topics.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Further develop and implement EHS management system to protect our employees from workplace EHS risks exposure.
  • Develop and maintain at global level an EHS overview including environmental aspects, chemical & physical agents, ergonomics, industrial and people safety.
  • Provide strong EHS leadership for the LM Wind Power organization to support goals and objectives
  • Develop and support EHS site managers to build strong local EHS performance
  • Cultivate an exceptional and proactive EHS culture across the business
    Work collaboratively inside and outside GE, to identify and leverage best practices from other businesses, acquisitions, partners and customers.
  • To develop and implement safety standards in LM and assure safety basics (Life Saving Principles) across LM.
  • To manage Medical services and Security in LM
  • To assure the implementation in LM of GE/GERE EHS processes.
  • Data consolidation and reporting LM performance to different stake holders
  • To develop and support the governance program regarding compliance, ISO certification and GE management system
  • To assure that LM Services has the right EHS leadership, execution and control considering the high risk operations involved in the day to day activities.
  • This category encompasses the senior leadership roles or positions that are responsible for cross functional teams. In GE, this would include the leaders of Legal, Enterprise Standards, Global Operations, Services, Resource & Environmental Strategies, Remediation, High Risk Operations and certain additional individuals who report directly to those leaders. This category also includes the EHS Managers for each of the GE Businesses.
  • Typically a 2nd line manager with senior professional direct reports. Has the ability to attract and retain talent. Often manages medium to large teams. Developing expertise in own function. May include roles that are experts in their discipline, providing professional or thought leadership . Influences policy and ensures delivery within area of responsibility, linking with other parts of the organization.
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
  • Leads others to find creative solutions within complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Employs sophisticated operational/product management, manufacturing or engineering techniques. Interaction with adjacent functions needed to solve issues. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Leads functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Presents business or technical discipline solutions to leaders. Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view. Influences peers to take action and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Health & Safety, Environment, Science (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 8 years of EHS management experience, with at least 3 of which must be in a leadership position, with exposure to several EHS areas in a project/manufacturing/services/operations environment

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations outside GE (customers and regulatory agencies)
  • High energy, self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
