Job Description
- Design and develop embedded hardware and software modules for mobile robots -power distribution, motor controllers, sensors interfaces, battery and charging systems
- Participate in the overall system architecture design of mobile robots and related systems
- Ensure products comply with performance, reliability, and functional safety requirements
- Work on converting prototype designs to production designs including the creation of
- DFM material such as detailed BOM, assembly instructions, etc.
- Design testing procedures for the overall system and individual modules
- Actively work on firmware optimizations and maintain firmware revision control
- Create, maintain and review the documentation on a regular basis
- Understand the system as a whole and proactively resolve integration issues
Skills
- At least 5+ years experience in the field of embedded hardware and firmware development
- At least 5+ years experience in the mobile robotics or EV industry
- Practical knowledge in domains like power supply design & isolation techniques, motors, drives, batteries, etc.
- Direct hands-on experience in working with BLDC motor control systems is an added advantage
- Strong in C, C++ programming languages with experience in writing low-level microcontroller firmware meeting strict coding standards
- Experience in the interfacing of communication protocols - UART, SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485, CAN
- Knowledge of RTOS and related concepts
- Hands-on experience on any schematic & PCB Design tools like Eagle, Altium, KiCAD, etc.
- Strong experience in component or module selection based on technical requirements
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC and other equivalent compliance testing standards
- Prior experience with ROS is an added advantage
