Job Description
Develop Design StrategiesDesign managers develop and implement successful design strategies, outlining how the design team will create deliverables and implement them for the project. Design & Development of Automated Car Parking Systems. Design and development of New Products; Making prototype and approving the product for market launch
Manage Design TeamDesign managers typically manage a team of several designers, evaluating individual design deliverables and overall team performance. They also deliver critical feedback where needed and encourage team members like junior design engineers and draughtsmen throughout the duration of a project
Collaboration with internal TeamsDesign is important to a product's success; design managers collaborate with other teams to ensure that success. They work mostly with product development and marketing teams, as those teams are most involved with a product's looks and presentation to customers. Solving the problems faced by the manufacturing team. Solving the problems faced by the installation team
Present Design IdeasOnce design strategies have been developed, design managers present them to upper management. While presenting, design managers speak to specific numbers and expected outcomes.
Evaluates Design PerformancePreparing proposal drawings, GAD, Manufacturing Drawings, assembly drawings & Installation Drawings; Once a design has been finalized and implemented, design managers track and evaluate feedback. This often involves filtering through customer surveys and responses to focus groups to create an overall picture of how well the design performed. Value engineering
Design, Development, and validation of Hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic circuits, and seals
Selection and validation of hydraulic components like pump, motor, valves, power pack, filters, coolers, hoses, etc.; Selection of Hydraulic Pump, Hydraulic Valve, Hydraulic Cylinder, Hydraulic Hoses and sizing of hosses, fittings.
Study and validate alternates for bought-out items, import substitution.
Preparation of Test plan for validation of hydraulic components in the Test bench, proto assembly, and field trials.
Resolving warranty issues and field failures.
Generating cost reduction ideas.
Technical clarification to internal customers, vendors & suppliers.
Preparing Drawings for spare part manuals.
Coordination for Proto Assembly at shop-floor and Testing.
Study and analyze ECR, ECO received and make an implementation plan
Prepare & update records for ISO, OHSAS.
Tools of the Trade
Design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Solidworks -must Sketchup)
Presentation tools (PowerPoint, Keynote)
Web technology (HTML, CSS, UI design)
Microsoft Office Suite
Mechanical engineer with a minimum of 8 years of experience in designing and developing Special Purpose machines.
Experience in design and development of material handling system
Knowledge of Hydraulics component, Powerpack & Automation
Knowledge of Structure design, Structural calculation & Structural analysis
Knowledge of Engineering calculation for components such as sheaves, Pulleys, wire ropes, Geared motors, Drums, Brake, Hydraulic cylinders, etc
