OCI Media Services is an exciting new team working on a suite of OCI-native services in the digital media space. We are building services from the ground up that run the gamut from content transcode and streaming to information extraction and analytics.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer, you will be a key player in building Interactive, responsive UX/UI for distributed, scalable, Media cloud service platform. You will participate in the entire software lifecycle %26ndash; development, testing, CI/CD and production operations.
From a technology perspective, this is a greenfield development environment with a huge amount of autonomy, leaving us free to build and innovate without being encumbered by legacy products and services.
Software engineer responsible for development of UX/UIs for media service on infrastructure, streaming, analytics layers using modern technologies.
Develop UX/UI using cutting edge front end technologies, supporting multiple browsers and devices.
Participate in design discussions with architects, technical leads to drive implementation.
Troubleshoot %26amp; analyse defects, issues coming from development, pre-prod %26amp; production envs
Develop feature functionality as per the design specification to meet overall project objectives/goals
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of experience UX/UI design/development for cloud services %26amp; distributed systems or equivalent
Strong development experience on front end technologies like html, css, javascript, Ajax, jquery, react.js, bootstrap or other related technologies.
Experience developing UX/UI, developing %26amp; customizing UI widgets, integration with cloud services for end to end functionality.
experience in developing highly responsive UIs with Javascript/Ajax, supporting multiple browsers, device types.
experience troubleshooting, debugging using chrome, firefox browser developer tools
Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
Essential understanding of modern infrastructure like service discovery, storage, containerization, software-defined networking, etc
Experience with production operations and best practices for producing quality code in production and troubleshoot issues when they arise
Ability to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
MS in Computer Science
Experience in developing UX/UI for multi-tenant cloud-scale services for any OCI service %26amp; its UI technology stack highly desired.
Experience in design, development of responsive UI for Media (Video/Audio) Streaming solutions highly desired.
Experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving performance issues in complex environments
Experience in node.js, Python, Java development is a plus
Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes/Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE) is a plus
Experience in Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Database: Oracle database, NoSQL is a plus
Any Cloud certification like OCI, AWS is a plus

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
