Oracle JD Edwards Content Engineering team develops content that enables customers to install, implement, and use JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software. The team displays a highly developed spirit of teamwork both inside and outside of the team and strives to meet department and corporate goals. The Content Engineering team collaborates with several other teams including software development, product strategy, customer support, Oracle%26#39;s partner network, and Oracle University. The technical writers on this team are information engineers, designing and developing several types of information solutions. The writers are constantly evaluating innovative ways to deliver engaging content to help our users be successful. The experienced writers are product experts and apply their subject matter expertise company-wide in support of product development, marketing strategy, and customer support. This team is integral to improving and maintaining our customers%26rsquo; ownership experience and providing relevant training to our expanding partner base. JD Edwards follows agile methodology for software development and writers work closely with the scrum teams to develop content deliverables.
Several software products are currently used by our writers, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), oXygen, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Camtasia (for creating video tutorials), and Blue Griffon (for creating Oracle by Example).

Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, and have experience with an XML editor and a video recording tool.
Show strong written and oral communication skills in either U.S. English or British English
Understand and present technical concepts clearly and effectively to audiences with varying levels of skill and experience
Communicate a working knowledge of style guidelines, processes and procedures associated with software project deliverables
Relate previous experiences as examples of working both independently and as part of a team
Discuss instructional design concepts and demonstrate an aptitude for technical training development.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance, test or user manuals for paper, multimedia or web-based publications. Contributes to the timely design, production and delivery/completion of product documentation and document sets.
As a member of the technical writing division, you will design, create and deliver whole product documentation sets and/or related courseware. Edit, organize and direct the work activities of other technical writers and staff. Plan the format, arrange the layout of publications and edit work for conformance to publication standards and specifications.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
