Job Description
- Should have detailed knowledge of piping material specifications;
- Must have experience of extraction of BOM from PID, checking of BOM, updation and maintaining BOM revisions deltas;
- Must have handled Mid-level and large scale projects in oil and gas field;
- Must be familiar with codes and standards (ASTM, ASME, API, ISO);
- Should have knowledge of various piping concepts like steam tracing, jacketed piping, IBR piping, basics of pipe supporting;
- Must have calculated inch dia. Inch mtr. Insulation and painting. Estimation of proposal stage BOM;
- Should have knowledge of statutory regulations and requirements of refinery and petrochemical industry, like OISD, PESO, NFPA standards. Should have deep knowledge of piping material specification. And standard piping specification like PMS / VMS / support standard etc;
- Should know Isometric and piping GA drawing checking;
- Should be familiar with checking of piping isometrics for BOM, preparation of line list, PID review;
- Transfer of BOM to 3D softwares like SP3D, PDMS etc. Extraction of BOM from 3D tool and taking various checks for correctness;
- Should have knowledge of piping special parts like strainers/traps /manifolds/ hoses;
- Must have knowledge of TBE and vendor coordination;
- Should be familiar with Review and checking of 3D model, Should be familiar with piping layout study, according to design basis and plant layout;
- Additional knowledge of stress analysis and caesar-II modelling would be an added advantage;
- Must have knowledge of piping codes and standards and special material requirements like NACE /HIC;
- Should be conversant with PIDs, Instrument hook ups structural drawings etc. its effect on piping engineering;
- Should be capable of suggesting substitution and calculating pipe thickness and RF pad etc;
- Should have ability to review /check the vendor documents, comment on it.
- Education: Degree in mechanical / Chemical Engineering.
- Experience : 10-15 years. Should have least 8 -12 years relevant experience in oil and gas and Refining Projects. Should have good knowledge experience of piping material specifications and added knowledge of stress engineering or layout engineering is preferred.
