Job Description
Bachelor of Engineering especially in Computer Science and/or in Information Technologies.
Total 10+ years of working experience in Applications Migration Consulting services specifically Application Systems Environment Discovery & Assessment Services, Application Migration Methodologies Proposals, Application Architecture Mapping & Recommendation, Migration Design & Implementation Strategy development Services involving custom-coded (e.g. C/C++. Java, J2EE, Queuing Systems) and packaged applications (e.g. J2EE Middleware SW, COTS SW & etc)
Must have 5+ Yrs of Applications Migration Technical Leadership experience specifically in Banking/Insurance industry.
MUST have 3+ Yrs of Application Migration hands on experience in Large & Complex Application Systems migration strategy development / implement projects.
MUST 3+ Yrs of Application Development/Deployment experience involving C/C++, Java, Shell scripting & J2EE Programming.
Must have excellent exposures in custom code applications, COTS & Industry Standard SW development, migrations, troubleshooting & deployment
Must have deep experience in programing & maintenance skills involving C/C++, Java and Shell Scripts as well as J2EE/middleware platforms such as IIS Web Server, JBOSS, iPlanet Server, WebLogic, , and MQ Series, Tuxedo, Tibco & other J2EE.
Experience in code analysis to identify changes required in client-developed applications written in SQL / PLSQL programs; experience with industry standard code analysis tools (Relativity & others) a plus
Should possess sound knowledge of UNIX (Solaris, AIX, HP-UX) and Linux on Intel (Redhat) and Windows Operating Systems.
Should demonstrate good knowledge of analyzing the suitability of migrating applications running on Unix (Solaris/AIX/HP-UX) to Linux (Redhat/SUSE) or Windows including interfaces to data outside of the application (in other applications or across network)
Demonstrate Applications Migration expertise listed as below:
Discovery & Assessment custom code source code/applications and especially COTS applications/Industry standard Applications SW
Experience in modifying and compiling custom applications code to successfully run in Linux environments
Experience in installing and testing migrated applications (both custom coded & COTS/Industry standard SW)
Experience in system overall architect design including sizing and performance
Estimate the effort required for custom applications migrations and associated database and data migrations
Estimate the effort required to migrate the functionality of shell scripts associated with the applications targeted for migration to Linux environments
Responsibilities
Leads multiple project teams of other applications engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.
Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software applications design and development.
Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with applications design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software applications leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software applications design organization.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
