Job Description

1) Plans and directs activities relating to design and development of protective packaging items
2) Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging based on marketing input
3) Develops/directs development of Sketches, specifications, samples, and written analyses of proposed packaging in order to present design/s for approval to senior management
4) Advises internal/external customer/s on efficient packing/packaging procedures, innovations in packaging materials etc.
5) Identifies or develops appropriate suppliers/sources in order to optimally fulfill existing organizational requirements vis--vis budget, quality and lead time
6) Identifies or develops suitable supplier sources in order to serve the needs of marketing in the area of new design/product packaging development.
7) Be in touch with state of the art industry practices and recommends new and innovative logistic packaging procedures, depending on organizations manufacturing processes, product offerings and business needs
8) Develops a suitable second line in an effort to bolster bench strength
