Roles and Responsibilities

The role

Based in Kolkata (Salt Lake), the position plays an important role in identifying trade opportunities for South Korean exporting businesses. The role will have a focus on helping Korean businesses succeed within consumer related sectors in India.


The position require a highly motivated team member who is highly fluent in English & Hindi and preferably Bengali with deep experience and professional networks in business development, preferably in an international environment. Business development experience and networks in the cosmetics, ecommerce sector is highly desirable.


Good network in Industry/Govt. for supporting Tender projects related information is desirable.


Good network with importers in India is highly desirable.


Duties Include:


  • Organising online B2B delegations for Korean Companies who are looking for exporting opportunities in India (Offline Delegations when the Covid situation improves).
  • Supporting Korean companies in finding importers for their products in India across diverse sectors.
  • Assisting and supporting Korean companies for any operational issues for their business in India.
  • Finding out about forthcoming Tenders for different projects in India
  • Assisting SMEs of South Korea in exporting their products in India
  • Organising Seminars/ Exhibitions etc.
  • Market research about Industry/ product/ feasibility studies.

KOTRA is Government of Korea's official Trade & Investment Promotion organization. It plays a crucial role to develop and support the bilateral trade promotion between Korea and India and is a key performer for the promotion of Joint Ventures and Foreign Investments between the two economies.
