Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall project planning, monitoring, coordination with various contractors and suppliers, consultants, and other stakeholders, value engineering, allocating and monitoring the human resources
  • Ensuring timely completion of the project with optimal use of resources.
  • Responsible for the overall management, leadership, direction, and proper implementation of a hydropower construction/rehabilitation project.
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates, manage the budget and cost control, perform capital program management, and financial and project schedule reporting.
  • Providing day-to-day supervision of operating expenses and the progress of work, with assistance from the state-owned utility seconded personnel and external experts, as required.
  • Being responsible for review and approval of all plans, schedules, variation orders, review and approval of all payments to contractors/suppliers, and operating expenses.
  • Co-ordination and communicate with local and national authorities on the hydropower project.
  • Communicate regularly and report on the projects progress to Board of Directors Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, funding agencies, Planning and Monitoring. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of the project.
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.
  • Monitors and reports on productivity and schedule performance to the Project Head, CEO and Managing Director. Takes actions necessary to meet project budget and schedule requirements. Directs and approves the development and implementation of subcontractor schedule recovery plans as required.
  • Coordinates with the team to review all site procured materials for acceptance. Reviews and approves equipment rentals (if supplied by company) and coordinates shared use of this equipment with subcontractors.
  • Adheres to Safety, Quality, Ethical Standards, Lessons Learned, and Performance Management programs in accordance with Division Policies, Standards, Guides, and Contractual commitments.
  • Resolves safety and quality issues with the safety and quality managers.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Should have competent knowledge of hydropower projects' life cycle and should continually maintain strong interpersonal and public relations.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Preferably Master's degree in Project/Construction Management.
  • Shall have successfully completed at least one hydropower project over 30 MW installed capacity construction as a project manager.
  • Willing to work at the hydropower project site on a full-time basis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Build Smart (ERP) or equivalent.
  • Should have the leadership skill.
  • Age should not cross 48.
