Business Summary:
Greenplum Database is an open-source, parallel Postgres database for enterprise analytics and data warehousing at scale. Greenplum Database is designed to run anywhereon-premises, in public and private clouds, and in modern virtualized environments. Greenplum Database is used by enterprises around the world, to store, manage, query and analyze their business data using SQL, Python, R and advanced analytics modules such as Machine Learning, Geospatial, and Graph.
Job Role:
In the role of Product Manager, you will define product requirements (based on user feedback and market need) at a fairly low level that engineers will implement. You will have the opportunity to interact with stakeholders in R&D, technical support, marketing and sales. You will also be able to interact directly with customers and prospects. Through your interactions you will learn what is important to make your product, Greenplum Database, better and meet customer needs. You will use the feedback to define tasks, features, and large capability journeys that are added to our team product development roadmap. You will be part of the entire Greenplum team that evangelizes our technology and delivers success.
Required Skills and Experience:
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
- Deep understanding on database concepts
- Good understanding of Distributed Systems
- Ability to communicate with engineers in technical terms clearly in writing
- Ability to make presentations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to communicate professionally with enterprise customers by email and zoom
- Business courses or self education in business related topics
Preferred skills:
- Education or experience in C/C++ programming
- Experienced participating in agile development
- Experience contributing to an open-source project
