Job Description
- Provide continuous monitoring for incoming events related to network traffic activity from different Microsoft customers.
- Produce accurate heuristic signatures, use the appropriate measures to assess the quality of signatures before reintroduction to MAGELLAN prevent and mitigate false positives.
- Remove inaccurate or unnecessary signatures from MAGELLAN.
- Determine signatures based on previous network traffic analysis expertise, events data and all publicly available sources.
- Provide the MAGELLAN research team detailed threat descriptions and feedback regarding required improvements needed to raise classification accuracy.
- Follow processes and quality standards for analysis and signatures set by Microsoft.
- Propose process enhancements and improved tool functionality.
- Adhere to platform KPIs related to accuracy, decision time, and productivity.

- Basic understanding of the threat landscape, actors, tools and techniques
- Desire to proactively uncover new trends
- Willingness to raise awareness of rules / patterns

- Strong understanding of computer security, Network Architecture and threat landscape
- 8+ years experience in analysing Network data
- Good Knowledge on Network protocols
- Good Knowledge on Protocols used unmanaged devices
- Regular Expressions in C#Python
- Should have exposure on writing network based signatures
- Python/C# programming language
- Should understand IDS/IPS/Firewall policies
- Experience in leading a team of 6-8 researchers
- Prepare weekly and monthly status update
- Should have good customer interaction skills
- Strong capabilities in Microsoft products like Visual Studio, Kusto Query and Azure Senital.
- Knowledge and experience with malware behaviors or Advanced Persistent
