Director, SSD Validation
Location : Hyderabad
This position is a permanent position with our client (US Based Semiconductor Product Company with revenue more than 30 Billion USD)

Director, SSD Validation
As a Director, SSD Validation in the Solid-State Drive (SSD) group, you will manage a team of Firmware Test engineers, Product Validation & Compatibility Validation Engineers developing test and automation infrastructure to validate and verify firmware for Solid State Drives using NAND Flash memory. Test & Validation Teams are involved in designing automated white-box and black-box tests to exercise firmware functionality for new high-performance mass storage controllers. Your team will verify functionality, reliability, and performance requirements of Solid State Drives.
In this role, you will be required to lead your team to build a comprehensive test plan for the project at kick off, plan resources and budget and execute to your teams commitments to deliver those on time. In addition to tactical planning, the job may involve strategic planning for mid to long term improvements in infrastructure and methodologies used in testing Firmware to overhaul and improve efficiency and quality of the work done by your team.
This role requires frequent use of project planning, bug tracking, efficiency analysis and automation software and tools, through which you will supervise, demonstrate and report your teams productivity and efficiency in achieving their goals.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Analyze test results as well as performance and quality data related to firmware development and SSDs which requires domain expertise in this field
- Lead a diverse team of highly skilled engineers
- Work closely with multi-functional team in project planning and execution which requires shown success in performing in fast paced highly dynamic environment
- Manage Test development, test execution and test automation and reporting
- Communicate challenges, solutions and mitigation plans to various teams and management, using outstanding communication of technical and non-technical subject matters
- Maintain high performance and great morale in work environment, using skills, recruiting and maintaining top talent through highly challenging project curriculum
Qualifications:
- Minimum B.Tech/B.E in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science plus 15 years of relevant industry experience, M.Tech/M.E/M.S in these fields is preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in the field of firmware testing and/or Product Validation.
- 10+ years of experience in leading diverse teams ideally in multiple geos
- 8+ years of experience in SSD or NAND Flash development industry
- Deep understanding of Storage industry protocols such as NVMe, ONFI, USB etc.
- Great grasp of test automation, testing methodologies and test tools.
- Deep knowledge of Agile FW development, GIT development flow, Branch management and tools
