SUMMARY
We are seeking a proven leader to build and operate our Product & Engineering organization in Bangalore as we grow our existing cloud product portfolio. As the Head of Product & Engineering in Bangalore, you will be a progressive thought-leader with a record of accomplishment of providing effective multi-faceted, innovative software to customers worldwide. The Product & Engineering organization in India is an integral part of our growth strategy and will be a key development location in delivering and supporting world-class SAP Concur solutions.
THE ROLE
Your responsibilities will include leading all product & engineering functions for the SAP Concur Bangalore location. This senior role will lead an organization consisting of multiple agile teams and will oversee engineering, product management and UX design to successfully deliver a large portfolio of customer projects while meeting deployment, security, reliability and customer satisfaction targets. The Leader will be responsible for working with leadership across the world to design, build and deliver Travel, Expense and Platform products. He or She will be responsible for overall technical architecture and ensuring teams are in compliance with overall strategy, Ownership of operating services that comply with overall service level agreements. The Leader will also be responsible for Customer Success, will be the point of contact for support, customer escalations, product & engineering, etc.
He or She will partner with Strategic Product Management team at the individual and leadership level, represent Product & Engineering in priority setting discussions, and manage overall product roadmap for the Bangalore location, actively participate and contribute to architecture, engineering, security and compliance assignments and projects related to improving our customer s experiences with SAP Concur. He or She will develop, nurture and foster effective working relationships with Sales, Product and Engineering, Client Support, IT, Marketing, Human Resources, Hosting Operations, and other Global Services departments / build on the strong existing foundation of talent and leadership within the Global Product & Engineering organization while infusing the team with new top talent and leadership from industry contacts
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
10+ years of Product Development & Engineering experience building large scale web + mobile, SaaS, PaaS or IaaS products using public or private clouds
7+ years of leading large cross-cultural geo-distributed teams across multiple time zones (50+ headcount)
History of delivering high-quality products built for scale and reliability
Deep experience with AWS, modern data processing products and microservices architecture
Experience with rapid scaling of engineering organization by hiring and retaining exceptional talent
Bachelor s degree required and advanced degree preferred
Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering principles/processes (e.g., Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, TDD, XP) and continuous improvement through measurement
Ability to communicate effectively to all levels across SAP Concur
Ability to lead architecture and product feature/strategy discussions
