Job Description

The Role

Infrastructure Engineers at Doxel are responsible for the foundations of our technology. The team owns everything from our Cloud infrastructure to our API server to our Big Data pipeline. You partner closely with our product teams to support their needs, at scale, on complex 3D and 2D computer vision workflows. The ideal candidate is able to balance the right way to build infrastructure with the fast way that startup velocity needs. You should be able to talk to product managers in their language and also debug C code to make it 2x faster. You should care deeply about reliable, low-upkeep software.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that our data pipeline is processing existing scans within SLA while quickly launching new Product features
  • Work closely with our Computer Vision and Machine Learning engineers to release state-of-the-art 3D computer vision models
  • Provide guidance to Product regarding new features, engineering scoping, and release dates
  • Build significant parts of our new products and the infrastructure to back them
Qualifications
  • Expertise in at least one of: C , Python, Java, Go (two or more preferred)
  • 2 years experience working with Apache Beam/Dataflow or other big data architectures (Spark, Hadoop, Mapreduce) in high-volume environments
  • 2 years of experience working with high-availability API services
  • Experience building and managing ETL pipelines from inception to production rollout
  • Experience with workflow management tools. At least one of: Airflow, Oozie, Azkaban, etc
  • Experience supporting hosted services in a high-volume customer facing environment
  • Experience with SQL and basic database knowledge for modifying queries and tables
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform/Amazon Web Services/Microsoft Azure
  • Proficiency with SQL (Relational, Redshift, Hive, Presto, Vertica)
  • Ability in managing and communicating data warehouse project plans to internal clients
  • Experience with computer vision or 3D scanning technologies
  • Experience analyzing security issues and designing highly-secure solutions
