Inviting applications for the role of a Lead Consultant QA lead

  • Lead Testing activities on projects
  • Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects, sets objectives and goals, breaks down work into the process steps, develops schedules and task/people assignments, anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks, measures performance against goals, evaluates results
  • Lead the implementation of testing strategies, the development of test plans/cases and establishment of test environments for test execution.
  • Provision of test status reporting, including Test Summary Reports.
  • Work with Project Managers and Business Analysts to oversee staff assigned to testing major projects
  • Ensure activities are aligned to the project plan and change management strategies.
  • Be the interface between external and internal stakeholders across the business and technology areas including development, testing and business teams.
  • Ensure all project protocols as defined in the test practice are adhered to.
  • Provide Escalation point and advice to projects needing management input, to identify core issues, analyse possible solutions, and identify and enact the best method for resolution
  • Manage key customer stakeholders relevant to the achievement of testing objectives.
  • Manage assignment of offshore testing analysts to projects in line with project approvals
  • Manage 3rd party resources and suppliers, including contract staff and key technology suppliers.
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of work group through productive personal behaviour and development of team culture.
  • Participate in project close-out meetings including provide constructive feedback on lessons learned and prospective future improvements
  • Understands how to contribute to team, business and group priorities and drives priorities with a sense of purpose.
  • Collaborates across and within teams and build strong relationships with customers to match the right solution to each customer s needs placing the customer at the heart of decisions.
  • Knows and clarifies what s expected, taking accountability to resolve problems and set high personal standards to deliver timely results in a changing environment

Role & Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated hands on experience in a Test Lead role in an agile environment for a minimum of 6 years
  • Relevant IT, science or engineering degree mandatory
  • Advanced knowledge of all levels and types of testing functional, system, regression, user acceptance, stress and performance.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in risk-based testing and how to apply it
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in industry best practice testing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce quality test artefacts as well as executing effective and rigorous testing processes with a dedication to assisting in continual improvement of the testing process to an optimal level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to translate test results to a variety of audiences. Sound written communication to ensure test summary reports are accurate, timely and support test management activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a technical team.
  • Dedication to assisting in continual improvement of the testing process to optimal level.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with a variety of test and management toolsets, such as Zypher, Load Runner and JIRA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in SDLC and Agile principals and how to test in an agile environment.
  • Experience in scripting languages
  • Experience in command line/terminal for automation
  • Experience using SQL and Query languages
  • Experience testing web services
  • Experience in version control
  • Experience with a development IDE such as Eclipse or editors such as Vim or Emacs
  • Experience in using automated test tools including but not limited to UI, BDD and defect tracking tools.
  • Strong structured testing skills and techniques within an agile environment.
  • Understand the developer role and techniques and procedures they use.
  • Know what technical debt means, the things that contribute to technical debt and the impact it has.
  • Interest in learning from and sharing with the external and internal testing and wider software development community.
  • Protect (PAS) experience is highly regarded
