Roles and Responsibilities -Materials Head
Qualification: B.E - Mechanical
Age: Less than 35
Experience: 10 -12 Years
No of Vacancies: 1
Location: Sricity .
Reporting To: Plant Head
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Should possess superior skills in the areas of Materials planning, scheduling deliveries, Inventory management, negotiation, cost distribution, vendor development with ability to generate huge cost economies with managerial perfection.
- Capable of managing multiple import & Domestic vendors, materials with different lead time effectively controlling inventory and supporting production requirements.
- Must keen in strategic sourcing and vendor relationships for long term benefits of the organization.
- Adequate knowledge on materials, their metallurgical processes and material science.
- Responsible for vendor evaluation, development, purchase orders, ensuring deliveries, documentation, payments, responding customer and vendor complaints on materials, rejections, replacements and shortages.
- Supporting supplier in solving quality issues that arise during development of parts.
- Performing Market research for identifying innovative processes of product development so as to reduce cost and/or improve quality.
- New Vendor Development and its Maintenance.
- Expedited all parts with suppliers as required, to ensure on time delivery, preventing stock outs and production downtime.
- Discuss regularly with engineering department to communicate parts design requirements with suppliers, ensuring highest quality at lowest possible cost.
- Informs the respective team on status of delivery to enable freight coordination
- Foresee and anticipate the progress and alert the stakeholders on time if there is a deviation
