Enterprise Solutions Engineer - - Github - 2

Were looking for experienced Solutions Engineers in the Western US to provide pre and postsales support to some of the most technically advanced software organizations in the world. A Solutions Engineer is responsible for the technical relationships with customers and prospects, working as a trusted advisor with customers to remove technical objections and creatively address pain points in a customers SDLC. Solutions Engineers at GitHub also work internally with sales and product development to identify and communicate solutions which meet customers ever changing business needs against the capabilities of GitHubs platform.

Pre-Sales Responsibilities:

• Identifying customer business requirements and matching them to product features
• Building joint customer strategies with enterprise sales, support and field services to encourage product adoption
• Providing live demonstrations of the GitHub Enterprise platform to prospective customers
• Answering GitHub product questions and helping customers and prospects to take full advantage of the GitHub product
• Answering GitHub technical questions and helping customers integrate GitHub with their existing development tools and workflows
• Building relationships with key decision makers and serving as a customers technical point of contact
• Educating prospects on product implementation and usage
• Learning about customers successes and challenges, sharing customer feedback within GitHub, and advocating for customer interests
• Maintaining awareness of internal GitHub initiatives and the Source Control Management (SCM) industry

Post-Sales Responsibilities:

• Acting as intermediary between sales and other technical teams to best meet customer needs
• Communicating customer feedback and perspectives to appropriate teams to be considered in product strategy
• Documenting technical considerations, collecting existing articles, and contributing to internal knowledgebases as a resource for other teams, customers, and partners

Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience in sales/solutions engineering, technical consulting, or DevSecOps operational roles
• Customer-facing experience
• Remote work friendly, with ability to travel up to 50%
• Team-oriented and strong collaboration skills

• Can quickly identify and solve technical and business challenges related to software delivery
• Ability to relate technical concepts to customers of all technical backgrounds
• Knowledge of Source Control Management (SCM) tools and workflows
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) architecture, tools and workflows
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be located in the San Francisco Bay Area or Western US

Preferred Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Knowledge of software composition and security analysis, SAST/DAST tooling
• Experience working in or with large software development teams
• Knowledge of Git and GitHub workflows
• Ability to articulate the value of DevOps and DevSecOps
• Knowledge of DevSecOps patterns and industry trends
