Should have excellent analytical skills, understanding of Accounting Principles and experience in managing mid-sizes teams
Responsibilities
- Drive and timely closure of open/ un-cleared line items in bank/GL reconciliation
- Reach out/ escalate to relevant teams on open line items and seek information to clear
- Approve Payments, Fund Transfers on Banking Portals
- Good Analytical skills - Analyzing the reconciliations, monthly movements, and variances
- Ensure Activity trackers and reporting on status update by the team is timely and accurate
- Review on ongoing/regular operations and close for various business units
- Review Operational risk compliance (SOX Controls) Process Controls, risk assessments, report out, and management
- Maintaining approved annual capital budget and the assignment of capital Project numbers
- Design accounting master data structure
- Participate in ERP/bolt-on tools migrations, UAT, and signoff
- Responsible for coaching and mentoring team on a timely basis to ensure the BS recs are of good quality
- Support and backfill his team members in time of need with a short learning curve
- Prepare Data for KPI and SLA reporting
- Coordinating with internal teams and external Clients, Auditors, and Advisors
- Should have good SAP knowledge
- Preparation of Annual financial statements for NAIC regulated entities
- Statutory Reporting Including Policy, Production & Exams (E.g., Retail -Puerto Rico Income Tax & Audit)
- Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) Program Management, Calculation, and Filings
- Enterprise-level Reporting (QIA)
- Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance and Support
- Legal Entity Reporting Preparation and Filing
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum qualifications
Postgraduate/ICWAI/CA
Preferred qualifications
- People Management with a span of ~25 & above (will vary depending upon the sub-process in this area)
- Strong accounting conceptual knowledge of reporting. IFRS knowledge is preferable but not essential.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint is essential.
- Working knowledge in ERP packages like SAP, reporting tool like Analysis for office, COGNOS
- Strong analytical skills, proficiency in multi-tasking and should be able to resolve issues in the operation
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to summarize and present complex financial data in an organized, concise manner, ability to present Performance management metrics and RCAs in monthly Governance Boards.
- Client Relations - Build the customer relationship, drive confidence, and improve customer satisfaction
- Self-motivated and very organized in his/her day-to-day operations, must be able to work independently and able to convene and lead all the process update calls with customers wherever required.
- Knowledge and sound management of the underlying process, and can interact with co-workers, management, auditors, and regulators.
- High ability to learn and apply learnings in practice.
- Show a strong sense of urgency in solving problems, getting work done.
- Produce high-quality deliverables, within challenging deadlines
- Develop a thorough understanding of customer expectations and strive to exceed them.
- Able to handle management Adhoc request with a short turnaround
