As a DevOps Engineer in Digital Engineering unit, you will be part of a fast-paced team designing, developing, integrating and supporting integration solutions for some of our Fortune 500 customers. You will leverage your formal education in the relevant field and your professional experience to apply professional concepts to work on targeted tasks. You will follow standard practices and procedures applicable in your area of work to complete your task/deliverable with high quality under limited supervision. Your established aptitude to achieve this while supporting other members of the team and improving your own knowledge and skills will define success for your role.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the lifecycle for projects inclusive of research, evaluation, design, development
  • Providing technical expertise for every aspect of the software and participating in design execution activities; analyzing, documenting, reviewing and revising software requirements and specifications
  • Establishing and ensuring adherence to software development standards and processes along with best practices for the delivery of scalable and high-quality software
  • Participate into the teams to find automation opportunities and draft execution plan
  • Working closely with project leads to monitor, evaluate and ensure the completion of tasks and projects
  • Exercising independent judgment and discretion in overall project execution by prioritising, planning, help tracking project progress and reporting to senior engineers and leads
  • Contributing to your practice/BU by
  • Documenting your learnings from the current work to produce an artifact such as an internal Wiki, a blog or a best practices document
  • Team building activities like induction programs and work with mentors and lead to drive the team towards career excellence and productivity
  • Actively participating in BU/Practice level activities and events related to learning, formal training, interviewing, special projects, POC etc.
  • Essential functions:
  • Conduct defect triage calls with counterparts
  • Generating crisp and easily understandable Daily Status, Weekly status and Sprint Level Status Reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Finding and requesting for behavioral, functional, non-functional training needs for self and the team
  • Coordinate activities which enforce Development improvements, CI and CD
  • Awareness to all the stake holders for the various risks
  • Contribute to data points on regular basis

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications

Bachelor s degree
Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical

Skills Required

  • Technical Skills: AWS cloud, GIT, Java or equivalent programming language, scripting in Shell or Python, Kafka, Unit Test framework, knowledge of Jenkins or TeamCity build tool, Continuous Delivery toolset, Jira, ITSM tools like ServiceNow

Preferred qualifications

  • Hands-on with AWS cloud is a must have, preferable to be certified in either Developer or DevOps or SysOps streams
  • Hands-on exposure to Continuous Integration/ Delivery and related automation toolset e.g. SVN, Git, Jenkins, TeamCity, Spinnaker, Octopus Deploy
  • Experience in end to end DevOps pipeline involving continuous integration through continuous delivery and deployment would be an added advantage
  • Working knowledge in one of the scripting tools Shell or Python
  • Working experience with Infrastructure as Code tools e.g. AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Chef
  • Knowledge of Kafka and message brokers is an advantage
  • Experience with APM and monitoring tools e.g. Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, Graphite, AWS CloudWatch is a plus
  • Knowledgeable on SDLC, unit testing frameworks
  • Experience with software development tools and standards e.g. coding conventions, best practices, design patterns as well as development methodologies e.g. waterfall, iterative, agile
  • Excellent logical/analytical, problem-solving skills and a good Team player. Should be able to work in a team as well as an individual contributor
  • Should be willing to work in shifts when required
  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and pro-active attitude
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
