The Azure SQL team is looking for a Program Manager with a passion for technology and for helping customers succeed on our platform by building the next set of industry-leading features and capabilities that will delight our customers. By connecting with the users of our service, program managers understand potential gaps in our portfolio as well as overall user experience to influence the direction of the service.
As a program manager in Azure Data Migration team, the candidate will engage deeply with customers and partners, help them unblock migration to Azure Data offering. The candidate will learn about their application patterns and help us define the strategy and roadmap for the product. The candidate will also interact with other teams and services providing related capabilities such as other Azure Data services, Azure Key Vault, Azure Storage, or Azure Machine Learning Services to name a few.

- Listens to customers to understand their needs.
- Drives clarity on required work to meet customer requirements.
- Partners with engineering, research, and other disciplines to design and build new features and solutions that customers love.
- Collaborates with partner teams across Microsoft to build coherent experiences for customers, developers, and end users.
- Plans, organizes, and manages multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or IT related discipline.
- 5+ years of industry experience delivering products, solutions, applications to enterprise customers using relational databases.
- Strong ability to articulate vision, requirements & benefits, providing a solid rationale to business and technical partners.
- Good understanding of database system internals, query processing, storage systems. Practical experience on Microsoft SQL Server or another Relational database management system.
- Get excited by the challenge of problems in data management and application development.
- Experience with helping customers troubleshoot product adoption challenges, and isolating issues between application, database, and infrastructure.
- Experience on cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, etc.
- High enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced competitive environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Desire to work collaboratively.
- Able to self-start with minimal information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Suitable candidates have product/program management experience and a passion for building solutions to help our customers. In addition, successful candidates must demonstrate:
- Great curiosity and willingness to question and learn.
- Experience in building and shipping production grade software or services.
- Ability to evangelize features and capabilities with customers for adoption.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
